The valve between the right atrium and right ventricle is the tricuspid valve. This is the right atrioventricular valve, opening to let blood move from the atrium into the ventricle during diastole and closing as the ventricle contracts to prevent backflow into the atrium. It has three leaflets and is supported by the chordae tendineae and papillary muscles to keep it from prolapsing under pressure.

The other valves are located differently: the mitral valve sits between the left atrium and left ventricle, the aortic valve sits between the left ventricle and the aorta, and the pulmonary valve sits between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery.
